Happy New Year!

2009
A year to shine,
A year that easily forms rhyme
Dreams become mine.
Life will be fine
No more a need to fret and pine
Look within and find the Divine.
So let’s form a jubilant line,
Raise up our glass full of wine.
A product of the vine.
Hear Big Ben chime
To welcome in 2009

Love Marjorie composed an hour before 2009!

Thanks to Joe Vitale for giving me the thought on shine in 2009
“I'm calling it two-thousand SHINE.” He says in his facebook message.

Traffic Jam

This can be a time of great frustration when your pathway is obstructed by a queue of traffic afore you impending your progress. But it can be a time that you can turn into a time of reflection, constructive thought or listening to a piece of favourite music. The atmosphere of the road can completely change with chanting mantras. A prayer to Ganesha, a must as he is the deity that is the remover of obstacles. I have tried this and it can quite spookily help move the traffic. Sometimes as you are sat in the traffic you notice things around you that are carrying important messages for you.

I have today read a good article by Indra Krsna Dasa, entitled The Road Ahead. This published in the September/October edition of Back to Godhead magazine produced by www.krishna.com http://www.krishna.com/en/node/1643

Indra tackles the traffic jams of Shiekh Zayed Road in Dubai everyday. But became observant and reflective of all around him. What use all the extravagant and high tech cars when all they do is slowly stop and start in a snarled up traffic jam. The journey to get home taking 2hrs of time, that could be used with the family. No matter how jazzy or latest design the cars are they are all forced to travel at same speed and shunting along as can in the jam. This modern design is no quicker than the horse and cart. Out of this observation he makes a profound statement that material nature seems to be nullifying mans inventive nature. So the more we invent the more we want and the more we create havoc and imbalance for ourselves. To add to this our modern developments not only stress us but nature with pollution, perversion and calamity.

Indira on this occasion of reflection feels a sense of being trapped and suffocated wishing to escape but cannot. He then thinks of is Krishna teachings and how our desires can cause our bondage. Our material desires fail to satisfy us. Even though the mind has a fantasy of the pleasures obtaining them, the pleasure is short lived, (and certainly when the credit card bill comes can be painful and stressful!). We create our own bondage by going round and round trying to gain pleasure from material goods. The ultimate pleasure and liberation is from spiritual enlightenment were the freedom of being part of the universal consciousness is possible.

I was able to bring this thought and reflection to you as today I followed my heart and drove to the Hare Krishna temple in Watford UK. There was a lovely peaceful atmosphere and the food was Divinely delicious too. I met with lovely people who were able to guide me at this time of challenge without my husband. Thanks to kindness shown.

Lonely

It has been very difficult over the Christmas period to cope with the sorrow of loneliness. Been in a "No Mans land" literally - with no man to give me Christmas hugs and attention. Been difficult watching others enjoy as they have their cuddles and fun, while I have been feeling left out. Anyway spent cold days and nights full of cold, with Paul O'Gradys book - a darn good read. His autobiography is like he is sat there in the room telling you the tale. You can just hear him and see all the pictures he his conveying with his words and story telling. Being born in 1954 I could identify with some of the historical observations of the time and era of his childhood. He has been so detailed in his observations of womens mannerisms. It makes you laugh, cry and shocked at some aspects of life - but with a clearer understanding of all that he has experienced. Looking forward to a sequel...

Sorrow

Been pulling some of the Osho Tarot cards looking at my situation now, alone.

pulled Clouds - the Mind number Nine = Sorrow.

This is the quote: "This pain is not to make you sad, remember. That's where poeple go on missing... this pain is just to make you more alert - because people become alert only when the arrow goes deep into their heart and wounds them. Otherwise they don't become alert. When life is easy, comfortable, convenient, who cares? Who bothers to become alert? When a friend dies, there is a possibility. When our woman (man) leaves you alone - those dark nights, you are lonely. You have loved that woman (man) so much and you have staked all, and then suddenly one day she/he is gone. Crying in your loneliness, those are the occasions when, if you use them, you can become aware. The arrow is hurting: it can be used.

The pain is not to make you miserable, the pain is to make you more aware! And when you are aware, misery disappears."
( interesting my word of the month is "Alert"!)

DIY

Well had my first taste of putting things together alone from a flatpack.. Should have filmed it for you folks and put it on YouTube...!!! I felt like a chimp solving an intelligence test.. but I think I have now evolved into an Argos flatpack species now..... should I have extra bits...??lol

What fun for a Saturday night... 10 screws, 1 erection and a bookcase was born...! Being man lonely is difficult and demands DIY for all the things you involved him in... Why are batteries not supplied... ;-) But then that reminds me of him asleep in the chair... he did not always have his batteries charged..

Alert

I nearly forgot to put up my word of the month! It has to be "Alert" -why because on Saturday evening I had an attempted burglary at my Kleiner Haus. I think I might have disturbed the foul deed, as the kitchen window seemed newly forced opened but a hand had disturbed a flower display but he or she did not climb in. So thankfully nothing taken. I haven't much from my marriage separation and some of what I have is from the kindness of others giving me. My daughters clubbing to get me some home comforts. So it would have been the pits to have come home to a denuded house. Also the opportunistic prat would have had a surprise if he or she had tackled me as through the years of trying to cope with an aggressive and violent partner - I can put up a mean fight. So not the dear old lady I may appear! But violence was the furthest away in my mind. I had been in a bubble of love at the latest sexual healing seminars in London. Had been taken for coffee afterwards and escorted safely to Paddington station.

I think this event helped to remind me that we are operating in an opportunistic world and you have to be aware on all levels of consciousness. In order to be aware then you neeod to be alert, not driftly or sadly with too much trust.

The police were very supporting and forsensics gathered quite a bit of material - so watch out Mr Burglar you may be close to being caught! The find of the crowbar from Wickes - gave me an interestingly thought - "is there an aisle there for burglar tools & accessories?" lol with a government warning that you may serve time in HMS prison if caught.

My landlord agent was brilliant sending her brothers round to secure the window for the night.
Our neighbourhood now on red alert! It is that time of year folks to be ALERT amidst your fun and merriment.

Empress Orchid

Reading a good book folks Empress Orchid by Anchee Min.. it takes into a Forbidden City in an oriental dynasty and follows a emperor bride from her humble poor background to being chosen to join his world of lavish court rules and rituals. Anchee has interspersed her work with poetry, as her main character Emperess Orchid whiles away her time awaiting her summons to the company of her regal hushand amongst his concubines and wives. so here is an insight..

Where she awaits her husband,
On and on the river flows.
Never looking back,
Transformed into a stone.
Day by day up the peak,
Wind and rain revolve
Should the journeyer return,
This stone would utter speech.

You can feel the solemn loneliness and waiting in this work.

But then there is a verse that Orchid remembers from her childhood that her mother used to read which I like the imagery of.

Like a singing river
You break out to flow freely
I am the mountain behind
Happily I watch you
Memory of us
Full and sweet.

This I feel is the mother seeing herself as the strong mountain from which her child like a singing river that as flowed from her body. It gives a feeling of the mother being the strength behind the child not only guarding but watching the child develop along her life pathway full of life and singing.

Negative to Positive

Expect Miracles from Joe Vitale book.

Thought:
A Miracle is a shift in perception - as we shift our thoughts from fear to love.
One of life’s secrets is that if you’re experiencing something you don’t like, it means that inside yourself, you are blocked and as soon as you release the obstacle, in an instant everything shifts and falls into place in a loving way.

The Law of Attraction is in complete alignment with the miracle process. Considering that miracles are synonymous with wonder, marvel or an event manifesting. The Law of Attraction works by responding to your thoughts and feelings thus the Universe rearranges itself around you, allowing you to have the experience you created.

But now need to be reflective and look how did I create all this experience I am in at the moment?

Joe's action plan:

Remove negativity and focus on what you want.
Dare something worthy.
Get Clear.
Nevillize your goal.
Let go.

Getting Clear:
What just happened?
Describe a person or an event you just reacted too.
……………..
How did I react?
………
When it happened I was sad, fearful angry….

Now read over what you’ve just written. Try to take an objective look at what happened. Was your reaction really justified? Why or why not?
Why did it make you emotional?
What are you afraid might happen in this situation?
What does it say about you?

Can you think about a time when you started thinking this was an issue? When did you decide that his was your story?

What choice will you make to change the story you tell yourself?
If this were to happen again, how might you perceive the event?
How might your reactions be different?

Now think about what happened. What kind of experience did it create for you and those around you?
Write this down with sentences beginning with “I” which allow you to take responsibility.

The story I created for myself makes me feel:

The best way to get clear is to identify the issue and then make a plan to change that perception or belief. Once you do that, you’re able to evaluate your emotions and understand why those happened in the first place.

You must now release and replace old belief with new more positive one.

Indian Poetry

Sita

Three happy children in a darkened room!
What do they gaze on with wide-open eyes?
A dense, dense forest, where no sunbeam pries,
And in its centre a cleared spot. – There bloom
Gigantic flowers on creepers that embrace
Tall trees; there, in a quiet lucid lake
The white swans glide; there, ‘whirring from the brake,’
The peacock springs; there, herds of wild deer race;
There, patches gleam with yellow waving grain;
There, blue smoke from strange altars rises light,
There dwells in peace the poet-anchorite.
But who is this fair lady? Not in vain
She weeps – for lo! At every tear she sheds
Tears from three pairs of young eyes fall amain,
And bowed in sorrow are the three young heads.
It is an old, old story, and the lay
Which has evoked sad Sita from the past
Is by a mother sung …. ‘This hushaed at last
And melts the picture from their sight away,
Yet shall they dream of it until the day!
When shall those children by their mother’s side
Gather, ah me! As erst at eventide?
