A massively important day for me today... Finally after 3 years trying got to see a surgeon. Such a kindly consultant and registrar - I feel in safe hands. This is so important. There was no doubt that I needed a breast reduction especially with all the added medical problems that I am picking up on. So a operation is being scheduled for next month... I am moving towards this with the added relief that my mammagram revealed no fear of cancer.. So we just have the debulking of the tissue to think of.
It makes me give emphasis that it should be Consultants not committees that decide on care pathways...
I know budgets are a problem but I am picking up on more expense over time so it is good that this is stopped and I am helped to regain my wellbeing. This is more cost effective so I am not be a drain on resources.
So now I have to prepare for this operation and the change in body image too...
I have a cardiology appointment as part of this work up... as a result of my chest pains... so much to move through to get well again...
